Where to find MPT Bar Exam Sample Answers:

The free way:

The best free resource for MPT bar exam sample answers is the Georgia Board of Law Examiners website. This is a great free resource and it has MPTs from July 2011 and on!

The New York Board of Bar Examiners has MPTs and student answers since when they adopted the UBE in July 2016. The also have MPTs and student answers (just one per year, as the NYBE used to contain one MPT) from previous years.

The paid way:

Our MPT books are a great resource for MPT bar exam sample answers. They also help save time generally as they provide an efficient approach to the MPT. For each MPT, we have:

• the question,
• the student answer (for over 90% of the MPTs) and
• the point sheet.

This will save you a ton of time scouring the internet or opening different pages in your browser as you will have the question, student answer, and NCBE point sheet for each question all in one place.

How to Use MPT Bar Exam Sample Answers:

The best way to use an MPT sample answer is to review it after you have already completed an MPT. Then compare your answer side-by-side with the MPT sample answer. You want to ask yourself the following questions:

• How was the MPT bar exam sample answer formatted? Was there a caption? A statement of facts? Headings? (And were their headings objective or persuasive?) Did your format generally reflect the format of the MPT bar exam sample answer.
• How long was the MPT bar exam sample answer? MPT bar exam sample answers can give you a realistic idea of how much other examinees wrote during the allotted time. Don’t worry too much if you wrote less. But if you are only writing a half page and the MPT bar exam sample answer is over three pages, you may want to consider writing more.
• What issues did the MPT sample answer focus on? Did you allocate about the same amount of space to the issues? Did you analyze the issues in the same way?
• What general conclusion did you arrive at (when applicable)? Was it arguably the right conclusion?

How NOT to Use an MPT Sample Answer

Here are a few important ways you should not be using MPT sample answers:

• Do not use MPT bar exam sample answers as a substitute for the official MPT point sheets promulgated by the National Conference of Bar Examiners. The MPT point sheets will not show formatting, but they do tell a grader exactly what to look for in grading the MPT. Thus, the NCBE point sheets are valuable resources.
• Do not expect your answer to be identical to the MPT bar exam sample answer. You can see on the Georgia Board of Law Examiners’ website that there are several different approaches to the MPT and all receive high scores. Focus more on the formatting and the substance and understand that you do not need to write the same answer as the student!
